The conservatory I study in brought in a famous Russian harpist Natalia, Shermanoyov, to do master classes with all it's harpists in the graduate program and to put on a concert yesterday. OMG she was amazing - it was 2 hours of classical Russian harp music, and in one of the pieces there were tons of special effects on the harp that I never thought possible.
It was also fun because almost all of Toronto's classical harpists were there, so I got to see a whole bunch of people from the Toronto Harp society who I haven't seen in ages. It was awesome.
And we had great seats too - second row, in the centre of the row, we could completely see her hands and her technique. I know I'll never be as good as she is but it was really motivating.
