Pat,
I would imagine by now, you all have determined how real the contractions are or not. I hope your daughter is doing ok right now.....it is great to know that technology is so advanced that things like this are much less of a worry.
I know 27 years ago they knew I had to have a c-section because I was just too small to deliever naturally. All they had were x-rays to tell that then, but because I was so small, my baby turned breech. Funny thing was that just 1 month before she was due, I was out doing down hill skiing at a local resort. Towards the end of the day, I had the funny sensation of the muscles tighting up......thought it might be labor too....but wasn't.
Then I was in class one night (trying to finish my degree while pregnant).....came home with my first craving for anything (which was BBQ potatoe chips). I ate the whole package & later that night & started getting cramps. I thought it was diareha from the greasy chips....kept having to go to the bathroom. I started to wonder about it early in the morning & decided to call my Dr when he got to the office. Told him thought I might possible be in labour. I went in & when he checked....I was 7 1/2 cms dialated. He was pissed & told me I should have been in the hospital hours before for the c-section. They wanted me to go into labour first to tell when the baby was ready. I wasn't worried because I knew the baby couldn't come out.....so made it slowly over to the hospital across the street.
It is amazing you things can go on in our bodies & we really don't know what is going on...I do hope that things ended on a good note today.
Debbie
