It's any member's prerogative to password-protect a chat room for any reason or no reason whatsoever. Nobody is here to judge others (or, if they are, they're likely in the wrong place).

I'd like to think we can do things to look out after our own emotional or psychological needs without having to impugn others. So I'm not sure what kind of "comments" you were looking for about this choice that's available to every member?
