Amazonmom; I agree I wish my pdoc had told me the side effects of the atypicals while I was inpatient. I think her thought process was I was very slim and I could have used a few extra pounds.......it ended up being 50 extra pounds and I wish I had spoken up sooner.

I can't remember the name of the new antipsychotic that my pdoc mentioned, but I had read about it in my BP magazine this year and it specifically mentioned that weight gain wasn't a side effect. I will try to find the article.
