That can just be propaganda. There's always a trade off. If others won't give us realistic information we have to "translate it" in our heads, i.e there is going to be weight gain but maybe the benefits will worth it. (Subject to individuals reacting differently to different drugs)

The other thing is the dosage. We always need to negotiate the lowest effective dose for us. Pdoc & patient need to be equals collaborating. The patient is the doctor's best resource. I negotiated a very low dose of risperidone with my previous GP and the present one agreed to carry on with that.
