I had been a yo yo smoker for 10 years, it started just occasionally, like when I was drinking or when I was with my sister and it just progressed from there.
Every time I got stressed out, I'd bum one and then wind up buying a pack.
What ya have to remember is you can never again think you can have just 1 because you will go right back to it. I try to avoid certain people and situations that trigger me.
I still crave one once in a while, the last time I had one though, it tasted nasty, so I guess it does get better.

Seaswept! I think I have to learn it the hard way. I make my life difficult.
I smoked for 16 years, not a day off. Or rather, after 5 years I had 4 weeks without, than back to it again. Last year I tried to quit from March. Some success (6 weeks), then loads of struggle: on and off smoking.
Eventually I had very good support from NHS (I live in UK) and I could quit with Zyban and with visiting a tutor every week. Unfortunately I can't do it now, since I am on antidepressant, and moved from the place where I lived.
I thought I only smoked for 2 days, I can stop, but somehow I feel very week every morning. Now I smoke as I did before. I feel no difference, but hope that I will stop again. Next time I will keep it in my mind that I can not have one ever again. Now I understand it.

Thank you for your support.
