When the body realizes it is not receiving food, it goes into what is called starvation mode. What that means is that when you do finally start eating your body will store more of what you eat as fat and you may see a fast gain.
Your best bet when trying to lose weight and being healthy is to, believe it or not, feed your body small meals 5 to 6 times each day. It can be as simple as a cheese stick and apple, to a small chicken breast (about 3to4 oz) with vegetables and brown rice. There are several cook books on the market that follow this principle. Two that I have in my house are, Eating for Life by Bill Phillips, and The Eat Clean Diet Cookbook, by Toscca Reno. Now if I could just get motivated to cook from them, maybe I would see some weight loss.
I hope you tell someone, maybe a safe person like your T, or p-doc and ask for a nutritionist who is trained to work with people who gain weight on psych meds.
