Today I went to see my OB/GYN for a follow up appointment. I left 3 hours after my appointment time. Although I had the first appointment after lunch, he had to leave to go deliver a baby so I went and ate and came back and waited some more (total wait time about 2.5 hours).
When he (finally!) came into the room, I said "welcome back."
He got the biggest grin and said "you just turned my whole day around."
I said, "It sounds like you're kinda having a rough day."
He said, "I've had the worst month!" and pulled up a stool and told me all about it (with me still sitting there with no pants under a paper sheet

) He ended with "you are wonderful, you're the kind of patient that makes doing this worthwhile."
Wow! All I said was welcome back and I listened and what an amazing impact.
I also went to rehearsals. I talked honestly with my mom and told her my T said I have to buy new clothes (ones that fit) to help with my self-esteem. She offered me her credit card to go shopping and I went and got it. I also picked up her prescriptions (and mine). It was a good day :-)
