Yes I'm interested too. I've been treated in both England & Wales and not had any experience like yours Sewerrats.

It's good that they ask you what you want. It can be all too easy to forget that it's our lives and to tell us what to do without consideration for our feelings.

Im not going up on the med as i wont get any benifit only more side effects, i just wondered if anyone has gone lower an not relapsed. This is a 30 year illness an i no all the meds an been on most, % 70 is the most you gain, on any if you hit that stick with it. You carnt even tapper meds in england they want you to wash out from ssri to ssri so i just keep some back an straight tapper myself no side effects or start up prob,s. So the is no point asking a p doc , thats why i thought someone may have tried a lower dose ,an leveled out.
Personally I don't understand why reducing your dose would help with your depression if you already feel like it's not working any more - surely with less medication in your blood it would work less effectively?! I can certainly understand your aversion to increasing the sertraline if it gives you intolerable side effects, but maybe a pdoc can suggest another med for you?

Were you inpatient?? Is that why you don't have an allocated pdoc? I'm very confused because my GP has always referred me to a community mental health team (cmht) and I've seen a specific pdoc each time I've gone, which has allowed a relationship to develop and they get to know how your body responds to the different meds, since everyone is different. And I've always had 20-30 min appts with pdocs following the initial 1hr assessment. Perhaps you could go to your gp and ask to be referred to a CMHT and see the same pdoc??
