I had gallstones for about four years before I finally saw a doctor about them. The attacks became more and more frequent until I was getting them practically every time I put something in my mouth. Didn't matter if it was a plate of spaghetti or a glass of water.
I had my gallbladder taken out a year and a half ago. The attacks have stopped, but I still have a lot of digestive problems because I am missing my gallbladder. Still, I think it is better to get it removed than to try and keep it. My Mum tried to keep hers and she got a stone stuck in a duct and got pancreatitis. It was horrible.
