I've had cycling all my life, but I hid the depression and everyone thought the hypomania was normal since my whole family is BP or some other disorder. When I went on Prozac, I had a manic phase that lasted two years, cost me two jobs and almost cost me my marriage..that's when I realized I probably wasn't as brilliant as I thought.

I guess I was thinking if they wouldn't treat bipolar, maybe they would treat symptoms and eventually come to the conclusion that it's BP..
