I totally agree with you. I understand what you mean that having millions of dollars isn't the key, but just being able to live a "comfortable life style" making it possible for you not to have to worry about all the issues you mentioned. My husband and I are in the same hole as you claim to be in, we have cut back on every thing we can except for a vehicle ( we need to keep it due to my continuous doctor visits) and of course our home. We don't have a lavish home at all, but it is cozy and mostly decorated with flea market stuff that we clean up and puts characture to our place. I LOVE old things and to polish them up etc.
I wish I had advise for you, but I don't. I also suffer from deep dark depression, anxiety not to mention the grueling physical pain. Like you I find myself many times wanting to throw the towel away and just lay down and give in. I can't imagine living this way much longer, it truly is killing me....but it does so very slowly....like torture.
All I have to offer is if you is that some one out there understands completly.
