Went to my IOP meeting and they gave us these sheets of paper with drugs, their names, and how they effect you. I thought it was kinda interesting and figured I'd share it with you guys. I don't think it's triggering, but if it is, I apologize in advance. I'd never intentionally cause y'all to have triggering thoughts.
Went to my IOP meeting and we were given a sheet with different drugs, their side effects, and even method of use on it. I found it to be pretty interesting and thought I'd post it here for others to see. I hope it's not triggering in any way but if it is I apologize in advance.
Cannabis: Marijuana and Hashish
Street/Common Name: Weed, pot, grass, bud, joints, bong hits, Hash, hash oil
Methods of Use: Smoked or ingested
Psychological/Physical Effects: Poor concentration, short term memory loss, anxiety, increased appetite
Long term effects: Psychological addiction, impaired memory, low motivation, lung or oral cancer
Overdose signs: So single use of cannabis will cause overdose. Damage occurs over time.
Depressants: Alcohol, Benzodiazepines, Barbiturates, Rohhypnol, GHB(Gamma hydroxybutyrates)
Street/Common names: Beer, wine, distilled spirits, Xanax, Valium, Halcion, BZD's, benzos, Luminal, Seconal, Barbs, downers, Roofies, forget-me-pill, Grievous bodily harm, G, liquid X.
Method of Use: All ingested and Rohypnol snorted as well
Psychological/Physical Effects: Disorientation, Poor coordination, Slurred speech, Headache, Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, Unconsciousness
Long Term Effects: Addiction, Sleep disturbance, brain damage, heart disease, liver disease, cancers, death
Overdose: Unconsciousness, Slowed heart rate, brain damage, liver failure, coma, seizures, death
Stimulants: Cocaine/Crack, Amphetamines, Methamphetamine, MDMA(methylene dioxy methamphetamine)
Street/Common Names: Coke, blow, crack, rock, speed, uppers, cross-tops, meth, crystal, crank, ice, ecstasy, X, XTC, the club drug, the love drug, rolls, Adam, the hug drug, lovers' speed
Methods of Use: Cocaine can be snorted, smoked, injected, or ingested. Amphetamines are ingested and methamphetamine is snorted, smoked, injected, or ingested. MDMA is ingested.
Psychological/Physical Effects: Increased alertness, false sense of power, Hallucinations, itchy skin, compulsive tooth grinding, nausea, insomnia
Long Term Effects: Addiction, Nasal Damage (snorting), Tooth decay, heat stroke, liver and kidney damage, brain damage, heart failure
Overdose: Elevated body temperature, dehydration, hallucinations, heart failure, stroke, death
Narcotics: Heroin, Morphine, Prescription Pain Relievers
Street/Common Names: Dope, smack, stuff, horse, junk, Roxanol, Duramorph, M, Miss Emma, vicodin, codeine, percodan, demerol, oxycontin, oxy, oxycotton, percs, hillbilly heroin
Method of Use: Heroin can be injected, snorted, or smoked and Morphine can be injected, ingested, or smoked and Prescriptions can be injected, ingested, or snorted.
Psychological/Physical Effects: Confusion, Drowsiness, Blocked pain messages, Slowed breathing and heart rates, Nausea and vomiting, Itching, Constipation
Long term effects: Addiction, insomnia, arthritis, Increased risk of HIV/AIDS and hepatitis, possible death
Overdose: Loss of consciousness, tremors, slow shallow breathing, clammy skin, convulsions, coma, death
Hallucinogens: LSD(Lysergic acid diethylamide), Ketamine, Mescaline/Peyote, PCP(Phencyclidine), Psilocybin/Psilocyn Mushrooms

Psychological/Physical Effects: Sensing imaginary things, anxiety, nausea, sense of indestructibility, chills and sweats, trembling, elevated body temperature
Long Term Effects: Depression, Memory Loss, Speech Difficulties, Flashbacks, Violence, Psychosis, Amnesia
Overdose: Depression, Irrational behavior, Violence, Psychosis, Delirium, Amnesia
Inhalants: Adhesives, solvents, aerosol sprays, medical gases
Street/Common Names: Poppers, snappers, huffing, glue, laughing gas, rush
Method of Use: Sniffing or Inhaling
Psychological/Physical Effects: Headaches, Nausea and vomiting, Red or blistered nose and mouth, Limb spasms, Lost control of bladder and bowels
Long Term Effects: Damaged senses, muscle weakness, nerve damage, blood disease, damage to brain, liver, and kidneys
Overdose: death by asphyxiation/suffocation, death by sudden heart failure
Anabolic Steroids: Anadrol, Depo-Testosterone, Equipoise, and many others
Street/Common Name: Roids, juice, sauce, slop, gym candy, stacking
Methods of Use: Injected, Ingested, or applied to skin
Psychological/Physical Effects: Poor concentration, aggression, acne and rashes, Headaches, Nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea, bone pain and muscle cramps
Long Term Effects: Aggression, poor blood clotting, heart attacks, liver and kidney cancer, stunted growth, deformed genitals
Overdose: Swelling, Elevated blood pressure, convulsions
