I'm sorry that they are questioning you like that. It most certainly is very difficult for people who have not been in that situation to understand why and how these things happen. NO ONE can predict what they would do or how they would react were it to happen to them!

You are NOT at fault. You were NOT the one who was wrong. You did what you had to do to survive the situation. You cannot be slighted for that.
