Hi Ryask I do the same thing. I think part of the reason Christmas can be a hard time for people is if their family dynamic wasn't healthy growing up (abuse etc.) I dreaded going to my parents each year for Christmas because it brought up bad childhood memories. I have stopped going to family gatherings since May and have no plans to go there for Christmas. It may sound harsh, but for me it beats having to relive those memories.
