I only briefly read through a few of the replies here, but I'm currently reading a very interesting book titled The Shack by William Paul Young. It is about spirituality and written in a very different way. It will help you to remove all the restrictions placed on most of what you may have be taught in a religious setting.
I highly recommend it if you are struggling or looking for a sense of spirituality in your own life. I was given the book by my best friend who is not a 'church goer', but very much believes in a higher power. She is a recovering alcoholic.
She was raised in a very strict church where they believed in speaking in tongues, etc...but she thought this novel was written in such a freeing transparent way and though it starts out with a man losing his daughter in a kidnapping, it shows love and faith and hope in a beautifully written story.
I really am loving this book. the sub title is: Where Tragedy Confronts Eternity.
I highly recommend it if you are struggling for or looking for a sense of spirituality in your own life.
