Is your Aunt your Psychiatrist? If not I would suggest speaking to your own Psychiatrist. It may be that your mom misunderstood what your Aunt said because the use of the term mood disorder is a broad term, but does include bipolar. Mood disorder is just a term to describe the group of disorders found in the DSMIV which include Bipolar, Major Depressive Disorder, Postpartum Depression etc.
