Sunny has a thread here right now on basically the same topic. What comes to mind for me is that for memories to be formed you need to be present. If you were not present or dissociated while in your home it would make it harder to form and retain memories I would think. Maybe when you had a friend over you were worried about how your mother would act and this caused you to not be as present?
