Hi Sugahorse
I know how it feels to be in a crisis situation and have no one available. It tends to elevate the crisis. Professional help isn't always necessary - just connecting with another person helps. For the most part, everyone here understands "non-critical" crises.
Would it help to have a "Sleepless" thread in a general forum like the Social Forum? It doesn't have to be all about crisis situations - that would be too depressing, lol. It could be about that and/or whatever is on your mind at the time. As long as you're not overly dramatic about suicide ideation, it wouldn't be too stressful for the participants - if you're posting, it shows you have a desire to live. Then again, you might want to talk about something else in that thread, i.e., how good it feels to put your toes in the sand, etc. - but you'll be talking with people who understand.
In the meantime, post whatever/whenever/wherever you feel is necessary. Patience is a necessary skill in life, even in today's "gotta have it now" world. Consider it a workout - but don't pull your hair out waiting for a response. Then you'd have to go over to the Knitters thread in the Social Forum and ask them to make you a hat.
Just an idea
