When I lived in California, I had been hospitalized many times & one of the ladies that lived in the same area as I did used to SI constantly....she was in her late 40's back in 1996......it wasn't anything she was about to stop doing even with all the therapy she had.....she had a lot of pain in her life from the beginning.

The sad thing I saw at the ranch where I boarded my horses was this little girl about 3....was there with her aunt who was trying to adopt her away from the abusive mother she had...the girl was walking along the horse stalls slapping herself in the face......I could just picture what she was going through at that age....just made me want to hold her & tell her it would all be ok & that no one should ever slap anyone......I also pictured what her future would hold if she was treating herself that way at the age of 3.
