I'm a recovering drug addict and my pdoc refuses to put me on any medication such as Xanax or Klonipons because she says they are habit forming especially for a recovering addict. I have extreme anxiety and can't even work before of it, I even draw a check partly due to my anxiety. If it's true that I can't take Xanax or medications of the same effect due to my addiction, do you guys know of any other medication prescribed for anxiety and nervousness that isn't in the same medical category as Xanax, Valium, etc, etc? I'd really like to know so I can suggest to my pdoc these medications. I'm so tired of being so anxious and nervous all the time.
