Exactly sky... great observation.
It is also a tendency when depressed to dismiss any accomplishments as "insignificant" or "too small in the big picture" and we know that one thing we must do is set easy goals for ourselves and give ourselves great credit not only when those goals are achieved but even when we make small progress toward one ofthose goals.
Posting about those successes, large or small, I think can be a huge way to reinforce those positive thoughts... instead ofburying them because depression says we're "worthless" anyway, this way it is out there in writing and that just reinforces the positive thought. Just like repeating something out loud helps you remember it. For me, doesn't have anything to do with getting replies to that post or to going back and reading it again... just the act of posting it is reinforcement.
