Also... call your state representative (whatever they are called in the US) and demand assistance somehow. Call the local newspaper and let them know what is happening. For pete sake... truancy? That is just skipping school, isn't it? ANd they charge people with that in criminal court? Omg... what a f**ked up system.
There are societies that fight for legal rights, etc... try researching those, or maybe someone can suggest one here... talk to the school maybe... explain what their brilliant logic is now doing to the family.
i am so sorry thunderbear... what a crappy situation

Thanks little rhino

The truancy in my case was that here, in a school year, a child is allowed 7 un-excused absences, my 8 y/o had 8 days. Only 1 over the limit. I told the county attorney when I called him yesterday, that I am not saying that I was'nt guilty of truancy, yes my son had 8 days, but the charge should be contributing to the truncy of a minor like when I went to school not unlawful transaction cause it sounds dirty. But would'nt listen. I e-mailed Kentucky's Attorney General and a county attorney from a differant county, who is the one who supported using the charge for truancy back in '07. We ave been e-mailing back and forth on this and hopefully he can hlp. He did'nt know such a charge would be veiwed as this. But really how could he not? Next step is what you said. This whole thing is ridiculous.
