What do you mean about the survey thing? What are you talking about here?If you have health insurance you just look up all the Pdocs that are covered by your insurance and make an appointment (unless you want to pay more by going out of network). You do not need anyone's permission to change Pdocs or any other type of doctor. If your insurance is university insurance or student coverage or whatever just make an appointment with someone else. Your Pdoc would irritate me to no end. I do not waste my time on Pdocs who do not listen and are not responsive to my needs. You have wasted a lot of time on this guy.

(I was represcribed the vyvanse, but same dose.. I wrote a request (and gave it to the office aid to give to the doc (i saw her slip it into his box), for a diffrent medicene or a raise in my adhd med. I called thursday when they said he'd be back in. He sent me to voicemail.and it's just been repeating. I thought maybe if i wrote him something and it's all i wrote, he wouldn't be able to over pass it so easily like he does when we are face to face 'chatting'.
Well it was a good idea about the note for record keeping purposes, but it's not a good way to get a more immediate response. Who re-prescribed the Vyvanse on the same dose, the same Pdoc your talking about here? When did he do that? How much Vyvanse are you taking?

Still on the prednisone too but on a lower dose , and the vyvanse is helping with the adhd symptoms to where i can atleast do things -not very productivly, but still.. better than before. lol)
Yeah the Prednisone you have to taper slowly or you will feel really really crappy! I cold stopped it once and had major problems (I used to have severe allergy and asthma problems is why I was on it). Is the Chrohns Disease flaring up the reason you are on the Prednisone? I restarted my Vyvanse lately and it is not a complete cure all. I need to go back to my T and work on a few things. I need support from someone like my T who sees clearly and understands.

:-) And i'll call my family doc tomorrow. Thanks! I'm far past due for a blood test anyways. lol ^^^^ how it feels sometimes with me in the middle of the two.
Why do you think you need a blood test and what would they be testing for? Did you get an appt. w/ family doc?

My pdoc told me this about ritalin.. i guess that's another good reason to change pdocs..
Are you telling me that he said that Ritalin was illegal in adults? Is this guy for real? What medical school did he go to, a veterinarian training program? Please tell me he has at least one redeeming quality as a psychiatrist...

Yeah... I was diagnoised with crohn's back in august area. (i've had it since i was a toddler tho.) But i guess this time was worse than the rest, as I was terrified i had pid and it was gonna kill me if i didn't get medical attention... so i did.. and found out i didn't have pid, but i had crohn's.. (which seems to be getting worse with age.. even tho i have less stress now than i did when i was younger. lol). But with that my colon isn't grabbing all the nutrience it's needing. Landed me in the hospital a few times just for needing iv bags of potassium, and magnesium, and sodium chloride (I've fought dehyrdation and the water bags since i was 8 so, that was nothing new), and a few blood transfusions.
So you've been treated for Crohns since you were 8 as inpatient but they didn't diagnose you as Crohns until this August? What did they have you diagnosed with then if I may ask?

And the blood tests are to make sure I'm not going too low, or too high in things. (Such as potassium which is fatal either way). And to make sure my magnesium stays in the right area because it has something to do with if it's too low my body wont deal with the potassuim or any other vitiamen things and i will take it, and they will just pass right through.
Do you see a specialist? Doesn't the specialist schedule lab tests on a regular basis, or does he just depend on you to determine with your magic wand when you think you need one?

50mg? huh.. and you can't really cut a capsule in two, lol. Tho when I was weening myself off of cymbalta I would make a note on how much i pourd out each night, and repeat it until I was pretty much weened off of it. What does the XR after adderall mean? (something i laugh at everytime is when the pill bottle has "do not crush or chew" crushing wouldn't be possible, but the mere thought of chewing makes me go "eww!" lol)
DO ***NOT*** even try to chew the Vyvanse. I have tasted the results of this before and it is absolutely DISGUSTING tasting and takes hours to wash away!!! YUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
It also defeats the purpose of Vyvanse to have it absorbed that way and could give you undesired results. I know because I have played chemist before out of desperation. I don't recommend doing some of the things I have done but I was trained as a medic and know to a certain extent what is safe and what is not. Even then I don't recommend it I have at times taken the capsule carefully apart and dumped some of it out. Problems with this included not knowing how much the dosage really was and less than ideal absorption. Part of the charm of the Vyvanse is the sustained release capsule. It's designed to break down and release chemicals over time and not all at once, as well as the chemical structure of Vyvanse itself.

Well, if you remove half the contents and the capsule is half empty, is absorption rate hindered because half of the capsule has no property to it? Unknown. Also, it didn't make any difference when I did it most of the time (although I did dump half of the Vyvanse into a coffee once without the capsule and this didn't really help at all but it did keep me awake for hours on end which I wouldn't call desirable). XR means "Extended Release". There are also "SR" versions--- "Sustained Release" and other versions and sometimes the immediate release versions say "IR" and sometimes they don't. There really are a lot of types of stimulants and other non-stimulants to treat ADHD, not to mention different dosages. Drug manufacturers have become truly creative when it comes to designing different types of stimulant (and non-stimulant) ADHD medication. I read recently that there is a new drug on the market that is something that begins with a C or a K that was approved to treat ADHD as an add-on (which is a new non-stimulant I believe). I think I might try using this new drug as an add on just for an experiment to see if it is helpful and I will bring it up at my next visit.

I know from experience it takes a bit of experimentation to get the right type and dosage of medication, as well as getting the right help and non-medication treatment strategies. It is very important to have a good T, and a good prescriber. I just kinda really want to punch yours, but I'm working on my impulse control
