How I got better is that I stayed in the present and worked on my issues of today and only worked on the past when I traced a problem of today back to my issues of the past. This way you don't get stuck in the past without fixing anything of today. I worked on the most pressing issue that I had in the present. Does this sound like a plan that you would find helpful?
