well if i understand u correctly they are saying your attitude stinks. am i right? if so here's what i have done that helps me-i can't change what is and by not obssessing/focusing on the downside helps. course i am aware of the ramifications of diabeties but i had to stop allowing it to define me. it made me too depressed looking at it that way. i try to eat sensibly but don't always. i used to feel so guilty about that. i cried when the doc put it on my chart cause it made it final. today i try to think it as just one of my dx's and do the best i can. that's really all i can do. it has taken getting used to but i have a lot of unrelated health conditions so i just chalk it up as one more.
hope this helps you.
