It can be very nerve racking right before your first meeting with a new therapist. And, if never in therapy before extremely nerve racking.
You have to trust that your T has his/her best intentions for you.
I fear abandonment all the time with my T who has never proven I cannot trust her. It is my own issue.
I told her the other day I was afraid one day she was going to tell me I don't need therapy anymore and she said she would never do that. So...the key there is to have open communication with your T and have the T know your fears and talk it out.
