I happened to be on my "spare" computer (Windows XP, Firefox 3.6.12) and thought I'd see how those menus worked for me from here. Just like on my other computer: no problems.

If I get around to it, I'll also try them with IE and Chrome and report back.

-------------------
Update: The menus worked fine with IE 8 before I was logged in but now they're playing the same trick that other users have described. I'll put my mouse pointer on Forums, for example. A dropdown will appear with six options (Index, Calendar, Add Event, ...). I'll start to move my mouse cursor onto the dropdown, but as soon as it leaves the Forums button the dropdown will disappear. The same thing was happening with the other buttons I tried (Blogs and Chat).

Chrome is still downloading with probably two hours to go, so that part of the test will have to wait a bit.

--------------------------
Oh, hey! I just tried Gus's scroll wheel trick and it worked for me! When I hover the mouse pointer over the Forums button, the dropdown appears. If, instead of rolling my mouse, I turn the scroll wheel, the whole page scrolls up and the dropdown stays open as it comes under the mouse pointer. Once I'm there, I can roll the mouse from option to option and the dropdown will stay in place.

Gotta be careful with this darn Internet Explorer, though -- while I was innocently moving my mouse pointer over the options, this page disappeared and the Forums Index came up instead. Then, when I backed up to this page, my latest editing changes to this post weren't there any more. Firefox doesn't do that to me.

--------------------------
Here I am in Google Chrome 8.0.552.215, freshly downloaded and installed. This time those dropdown menus work normally whether I'm logged in or not.

In summary: the only way I've encountered the problem has been with Internet Explorer (8) and while logged in.
