I want to get back to this, but at the mo, here's my most recent experience: I drive 5 hours to see my therapist, and five hour back (over on Thursday, back on Friday). On the way to....I listen to a little music, but only stuff I know REALLY well and that will fade into the background while I panic about what I'm going to talk about in therapy, or while I try to organize the chaos. On the way home? I usually won't turn on music at all...It would be too much, exhaust me, and I am trying so hard to make sense of what just happened in therapy (one hour--usually over on Thursday; and an hour and a half on Friday)....the music trigger too much emotion, and I'm on overload!
