Sleeping is very important in recovery from bipolar/depression and those types of diseases. As a matter of fact, if I do not sleep over several weeks, I am guaranteed to have a relapse. I think all holistic methods are good (exercise, meditation, etc.) but until they do, you might want to try a good sleeping pill prescribed by your psychiatrist. One caveat, make sure you ask about the side effects. Meds such as ambien do more harm than they do good.
