Sometimes the medication can have a paradoxal effect....meaning it does the exact opposite it is supposed to do. I have never taken lithium so I am not of much help. Have you talked with your pdoc about that the lithium is doing or how you are feeling? I would call as soon as you can to talk to him/her.
