If there are particular subjects that you are interested in, you can also look for societies, organizations, clubs, talks and seminars in your area to go to or meet with and to talk about more of the things you enjoy talking and learning about. Might meet other people with more shared interests as well, even if you don't actually want to join anything. Do a search online and look at community bulletin boards at schools, groceries, halls, etc.
