thanks Vossie42, but we don't have anything like Cobra in Canada that lets you continue your work insurance by paying the premiums yourself. It's a really big rigamarole for companies to even continue offering health insurance to individuals through the severence period.

Fortunately I found a job, that has a great benefits package but I have to wait 3 months for it to kick in. So I'm going to get my pdoc to write a 3 month supply on all my scripts, which I know he'll do, so that at least I'll have my meds while I'm waiting for my new benefits to start.
