Cherrygash's advice sounds excellent. You know you'll have one friend there. Collect a few ideas, thoughts, and impressions -- one or more may come in handy later.

Yes! We depressives have severe trouble caring for ourselves. A caring other is a priceless asset for us.
Is this something you would feel comfortable discussing with the Sponsor? It's not too early to consider arranging for "continuity of care" after his departure.
