I understand how you're feeling because I have felt that way myself many times. The only thing that worked for me was to repeat the Serenity Prayer to myself. In the past, I always wanted to awe everyone with the things I did, the table I set for holidays, how my house looks, the gifts I gave. It was tough, but when I realized there was absolutely nothing I could do about many of those things, at least I stopped obscessing about it. I was still dissapointed with my circumstances (not myself!). I told myself that it wouldn't always be that way.
If your family can't understand or accept the way things are for you at the time, then it's
their problem. Try to shed the guilt and shame you may feel, even if it feels entirely shelfish, think of what
YOU need! Most importantly
give it to yourself if at all possible.
<center><font color=red>Lord, give me the
Serenity
to accept the things I cannot change,
the
Courage to change the things I can,
and the
Wisdom to know the difference.</font color=red></center>
I hope this helps just a bit.
