Keep calling the prof, especially if has he/she not responded to e-mails in the past. Make sure there is one voicemail a week until they respond. I would keep calling to try to reach them so you can get it resolved as soon as possible and it shows you are concerned. You just want to find out what you are missing that you got the I and can do to complete the work ( and yes, MUCH better than the F.)
