Why do you have to drink to enjoy the holiday? Heck, I can't drink due to my medication sounds like a great excuse to me (when asked).

Nothing is important enough to me to jeopardize my health (mental or otherwise) especially against doctor's wishes. Of course, this is easy for me as I don't have to associate with people who drink. No one in my family or hubby's family drinks consistently. In fact, his dad has beer in their fridge from before we got married.

I agree with LMo...as the spouse of someone taking an antidepressant "off my meds" are scary words.
