Bird, I know you have had a lot of questions about hwat has been goin on with you, which I think is normal and good. I uess before I could advise you on this, I'd have to know a littel bit more about what you arehoping the doc might be able to tell you based on the school reports?

Childhood bipolar was often/always diagnosed as ADHD/hyperactivity because the prevaling theories did not allow for manic depression to occurr in children. Also, hypomania and depression presents differently in children, so it wouldn't look the same. Many children whoo are now diagnosed with autism were then diagnose with childhood schizophrenia for similar reason; the symptoms wer not recognized as autistic symptoms because tey varied from the accepted descriptions.
That last bit was just sort of "Fun facts for fun people". I had teachers who wee sure I has "hyperactive" but I had a sister with ADHD and the people treating here were sure i didn't have the same thing. So it goes Huggs and good luck.
