Myan,

I think you speak of the "reptilian brain"(this is from memory so could be flawed), the part of us that is purely instinctive and primal if you will.

It is a genetic part to our makeup that helps us choose mates that DNA dictates in order to produce viable offspring(hence olfactory or sensory choice), eat to survive, detect threats and so on. It is a very important to the survival of our species, and it seems that you are very tuned in to it. And this is a good thing.

Natural selection, or 'the survival of the fittest" assists or orchestrates evolution. But as humans we must also observe ethics and morality, which prevents us from growling at our children or others when they take food from us. For we are also fitted with the mechanism of "sacrifice" in order to raise healthy progeny.

I have always been a firm believer in instincts and honing in on them. It is good to leave cognition at the door at times and listen within. It is vital to our longevity.

Take care and enjoy your instincts

Michah
Thanks for this!
