The Christmas card thing is a cute idea, but I don't think so. My two year old nephew wouldn't come near me, he was scared to death. His mother mistakenly said "It's Auntie, she got an ouchie from the cat, don't you hope she feels better soon." At which point he started looking at SIL's cat very wearily.
I do know that the photos we were taking on the spot, along with our general attitude made the doctor that came to the house nervous. She's been a family friend all of our lives. She babysat for me, I watched her kids, my daughter has taken care of her grandkids. But I think deep down it put her off. Our attitude must has seemed so crazy, but it had just been an exhausting day. At that point it was laugh or cry, we decided to laugh like fools.
