There is actually a research study out there that talks about the unconscious smell of our partner being a greater predictor of a LTR than other physical charactoristics.

My son is adopted. I hear all these stories of parents loving how their children smell. I am repulsed by the smell of my son. I cannot go in his room in the morning until it has time to air out.

I know people by scent and get very upset when people change laundry soap, perfume, shampoo... Oh... the things that have smells! I can often smell someone and know they are in a place long before I see or hear them.
