Anderson,
We went into an SPCA yesterday to see if we could pet some dogs but they didn't have any. At this one they only get a dog, every so often. They gave us some places to go. There are quite a few places for cats though.
Last time we went to an animal shelter was a bit too soon after our pet passed away at 19 years old, so we didn't go back and then we moved away from there so haven't been to look till now.
Because there were no dogs, yesterday, our little insiders got a bit sad but they saw a couple of kittens and a rabbit. We also talked to some volunteers about our plans to have a dog someday and maybe a cat too. Then we got a bit overwhelmed because where we are going live, we will need to have an area where they can go to the bathroom and so that means a yard etc. Also, I have to know I can take care of it as much as it helps me. I need to have really good food and cozy places to sleep and be able to have some savings in case it needs to go to the vet. Our other dog was so healthy so I was a bit spoiled that way.
It helped us plan for the future when we went to the SPCA, yesterday. We might still go where we can pet some animals, too, in the meantime.
Here's hoping you are getting lots of time with your possible future safety/therapeutic and wonderful pet.
