Being femal is a big part of it. Most of the ASD research is based on males and we present differently. Females even with ASD are wired to be more social and it throws people off... especially if you are smart enough to find ways to think about social interactions that just come naturally to others.
There are no ASD meds just meds for other things that have better outcomes for ASD or that manage specific symptoms (like the OCD stuff that can sometimes come with ASD.
