I have been half way around the world... but yes, I am somehow still affected. 9-11 was a defining moment in our history. It was when we realized that collapse of Cold War was not the "end of history", when the line between here (peace and prosperity) and over there (where wars happened) disappeared.

I still get cold shivers when I see the images... I still feel the loss of illusions, I sometimes ponder in the night if there will be winners in this clash... and I obsess more about what was going in minds of those terrorists...



(and yes, I wrote some poetry invovling "glass and steel temples" and "metal birds" and "disturbed skylines").
