Maybe it's just human nature to have the desire to leave your mark on this earth to prove you've been here. Some take it more seriously than others.
A long time ago, I noticed my son's name neatly carved into my dining room table. When he denied doing it, I asked him who else would have carved his name in his handwriting on our table? Why would his friends carve his name, why would a stranger carve his name, why would I or my husband carve his name there?
All I got was this....
He was just a little boy who had just learned how to print his name. He had every right to be at that table. It was fun watching him squirm at the dinner table as we pondered who could have possibly done such a thing.
I never had it removed. Over the years, it became too precious to me.
