I have no interpretive expertise (save my own dreams from time to time), but I wanted to tell you I found this such an interesting vignette, rich with details that I simply enjoyed reading. As I continue thinking about it, perhaps it was a simple wish to return to an earlier time, as you'd stated? A wish to be home again, with all the requisite comforts and chaos, maybe? Not necessarily to the time of your university graduation, but even earlier, to a place that none of us seem to be able to totally reacquire--that true sense of home and the safety and security that go along with it.

I may be way off the mark, but thanks for sharing your dream.
