No, seriously: all I can do when I'm a visual wreck is put on the most comfortable clothes I own (that are presentable), take a book with me, and lay low. Alternatively, I've been know to wear my something that I think is among the coolest things I own--then I decide that people are looking at it, not at me!....like, uh, my favorite shirt.

I also think of Forest Gump: "Stupid is as stupid does".....and I think of how gawky he looks and how good he is, and I feel kinder to myself.
