Although I also know how the anger can ignite and turn inward and have the recent bruises from that (very embarassed to admit it happened again. it had been so long),
in truth, the emotion of anger doesn't require any behavior. Thoughts and emotions are just that and we don't have to "do" anything in response.
Exploring what triggered the anger, and what it's about is something that can be done. When did it start... a moment ago or was something that happened a moment ago the trigger for something that happened this morning, yesterday, last week, the last time I was with this person, years ago...
