All I can suggest is earplugs as I have to sleep in them as I mentioned. But I also have to do that during the day if things get too bad. But they are uncomfortable when I'm awake; I'm aware they are in my ears! Sleeping is different!
Speaking of earplugs, I carry a pair in my purse. I have to use the computer at the library, and I'm often next to someone with music blasting in their ears that I can hear also! When I ask them to turn it down, they get hostile. The woman next to me now said something to me after she noticed me putting on earplugs! Something about me needing to leave! WHY ME? Why can't SHE be more considerate? She's not at home!

If I get a phone call from someone I know I don't want to talk to (like AT & T), I hang up on it rather than letting it ring. I'm not going to answer it anyway.
