That sounds really frustrating. MAOIs are rarely prescribed and your psychiatrist may not have enough experience with them to adequately monitor you. Also, with your recent suicide attempt he may not want you on such a dangerous med (dangerous if you don't follow the diet to the letter). You might ask him or her for a referral to someone else.
